My lovable, fat, goofy dog needs hip surgery, and I'm goin'-a-fund-raisin'. Most of you are aware that I have a wonderful Saint Bernard named Wilma- here's a picture of her dumb, foldy face! Wilma, whom I love dearly, was recently diagnosed with bilateral hip displaysia, which means that her femur bones are not properly attached to her hip sockets. This causes pain, arthritis, lameness, lethargy, and general difficulty enjoying normal puppy activities. Wilma's case is particularly severe.  We've been encouraged through consultations with Ohio State Vet. that surgery is Wilma's best option - they're recommending a total hip replacement, or THR. Seven out of every eight dogs diagnosed with bilateral hip displaysia can get by with having only one hip replaced- Wilma may need both. The surgery, under the steady hands of OSU's orthopedic surgeons, has a 95% success rate. Her surgery is scheduled for December 9th.

100% of the proceeds of this show will go towards the surgery for Wilma.
