Introduction to Improv Comedy (a Two Hour Online Workshop)

Dates: Tuesday, September 29, 6-8PM EST

Duration: 2 hours

Location: The Internet

Rate: Suggested $10 donation

Register on Eventbrite

This two hour introduction to improv comedy workshop is designed to give students a focused look at the principles and exercises improv comedians use to sharpen their minds, silence their inner critic and be present in the moment.

Improv is the ultimate confidence builder. Graduates of improv training credit improv for helping them make bolder decisions in their workplace, develop better listening and conversational skills, and have more fun with friends and family.

In this two hour course, students will learn:

  • The four principles of improv comedy and their everyday application

  • How the number one rule of improv comedy can provide new opportunities for laughter and joy

  • How to suspend judgment of self and others to become a more confident person and decision maker

  • Games and exercises that improv comedians use to sharpen their attention to detail

  • And more!

Sessions have limited (virtual) seating to make sure students have plenty of time to dive into the material and participate with instructors. Students must register in advance for a workshop, have a reliable Internet connection and access to Zoom via the mobile app or desktop/laptop. A suggested $10 donation helps us compensate our wonderful instructors (all graduates of our programs or current cast members) for their time.
