Summer Camp Week Five: Finding Truth in Comedy

  • ShadowboxLive's Backstage Bistro 503 S Front Street Columbus, OH (map)

The greatest improv scenes are the ones that feel honest, real and true...even if that scene is based in a ridiculous scenario.

In Finding Truth in Comedy, students or troupes will hone their listening and support skills to find the heart of a scene, work together to create real, relatable and touching moments, and discover ways to act honestly even in the most bizarre situations.

This course is for the improviser or team who wants to discover comedy that goes beyond the easy joke, how to find deep relationships that resonate and create sustainable moments that can heighten a short-form game or sustain a long-form set.

Students should have taken at least one improv class or have at least one year of improv performance experience.
